The Craigavon Cup has got underway on Friday evening.
This year’s Craigavon Cup kicked off tonight as kids from across Northern Ireland descend on to the ABC council area to show their football skills and to have fun.
Kids born in the age groups 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013 will participating in the cup.
Teams such as Oxford Sunnyside, Coleraine, Loughgall and Warrenpoint are all taking part in this year’s competition.
The tournament will run from tonight, tomorrow, and then conclude on Sunday.
All matches will be played at the People’s Park and Kernan Playing Fields in Portadown.
Organiser Thomas McStravick says the Cup is great for the ABC area.
“This is fantastic for the area, and it is brilliant to showcase the facilities and the space that we have here,” he said.
“It will bring in people from different communities and backgrounds and will show all that is good about the area.
To the kids and parents ahead of the weekends football, Thomas says to “enjoy” it and be mindful of social distancing.
“Just enjoy it, it’s fantastic we got to run the event this year,” he said.
“Please respect social distancing and the current Covid guidelines but let’s have a really good weekend.
