Lurgan Town U9 Predators travelled to Shamrock Park to play in the Portadown Tournament.

Town opened with a very unlucky 1-0 defeat to Cookstown despite having most of the play.

In the second game they drew 0-0 with a very organised Springfield Stars side.

In the final group game Town won 2-1 against the hosts, a very good Portadown side, with goals coming from Fionn Wilson & Oscar Philson.

They progressed to the shield semi-finals where they met Loughgall Blues. Once again the boys played some great football, having most of the play & coming away with a deserved 1-0 win & progressing to the final.

The final saw the boys taking on Glentoran and they saved our best performance for the final, playing some great football.

Taking an early two goal lead with both strikes coming from Oscar Philson, the boys never looked back. They controlled the rest of the game with great composure and maturity and were unlucky not to add to their tally.

It was fantastic day in the sun where the boys only conceded two goals during the whole tournament. They were absolutely delighted to come away as Shield winners with that 2-0 defeat of Glentoran, with every Town player playing their part fantastically well.

Town squad: Zac Stokes, Zak Hegarty, Will Russell, Fionn Wilson, Daniel Savage, Michael Askew, Oscar Philson, Theo Armstrong, Scott Watson & Cameron Fitzsimmons.
