Kieran McGeeney's  Armagh side will begin their 2022 campaign with an opening Dr McKenna Cup game at home to Cavan on January 6.

The county side will then face Tyrone on Saturday, January 15 at Healy Park.

In the other groups in the competition Donegal, Antrim and Down are in Section A and in Section C Monaghan have Derry and Fermanagh as opponents.

The top sides from each section will go forward into the semi-finals along with the highest scoring side which finishes runners up.

The final has been pencilled in for January 22,, just one week before Armagh travel to Croke Park to play Dublin in the NFL opener at Croke Park.

Manager McGeeney is expected to run the rule over several newcomers before the Dubs are faced in the New Year.

Following the Croker visit Armagh have another tough test when the host Tyrone in the second round of fixtures. With Division 1 looking intense, the Ulster men will need to hit the ground running.
