Young Ryan Duffy is still eligible to play on St Colmans’ MacRory college side next season.

It should be said that his CV thus far is nothing short of sensational.

The Culloville player, who has already made his mark this year at senior level on the Club scene, is the only Armagh representative on the colleges’ All-Star side announced recently, winning his place from centre back.

Having lined out for Armagh minors this year in a half forward berth, his leadership qualities have guaranteed a captain’s role on every Violet Hill side he has played on at all levels.

With his mum Elaine Mallon lining out for Armagh for a number of years, young Ryan was always destined for the top.

The All Star wing back has strong Lurgan connections, having already represented Glenavon at youth level. His dad Liam is a well known member of the business community in the town in his role of Managing Director of Classic Mineral Water.

Having won the Beann Dearg Cup under his captaincy, Ryan was also part of the team, skippered this season by Calum O'Neill, when the Newry school were narrowly beaten by Omagh CBS, who went on to lift both the MacRory and Hogan Cups.

Ryan Duffy is a natural leader. He will get another bite at MacRory level next season and has already tasted success with Culloville winning a league and championship double at minor level.

He is certainly a star for the future.
