A spokesperson for Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has confirmed that the bulky waste collection service has been suspended due to ‘operational issues’.

A statement on the Council’s Facebook page stated that the service would be suspended from Monday, September 6 until further notice.

Your Lurgan contacted the Council for a full update on the situation and enquired when residents will hear about when the service resumes.

A response read:

“The bulky waste collection service across the borough has been suspended from today (Monday 6th September) until further notice.

“This temporary suspension is due to operational issues including staff shortages, with the Environmental Services team prioritising the delivery of the refuse collection service.

“In the interim the public are being advised that bulky materials can be taken to any of the Councils Household Recycling Centres. Further updates will be provided as soon as possible.”
