A recent Ministerial visit to Dickson Primary School by Carla Lockhart MP
DUP MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed news from the Education Authority that progress is being made towards a new traffic management scheme at Dickson Primary School, Lurgan. The proposals will improve safety at the school site for pupils and staff.
Commenting, Carla Lockhart said:
“I have been working with the school to see what can be done to address the clear and obvious issues with parking and drop-off at Dickson Primary School.
"This has now reached a new stage with planning permission being sought to deliver a range of improvements. These would include additional parking spaces, new footpaths, a safety barrier and pedestrian crossing points. If all implemented, this would lead to a total of 36 staff vehicles, four visitor vehicles and two goods vehicles on site. This would totally transform the site in terms of parking and safety.
"With planning now applied for, neighbour consultation is underway and will close on Friday, 24th September. The application will be advertised until Friday 1st October.
"I hope these plans continue to progress and that the pupils and staff at Dickson Primary will soon be able to benefit from these improvements. I will keep the pressure on in this regard and continue to work with the school leadership team to deliver what the school community needs.”
