Sinn Féin Council group leader Liam Mackle has extended his best wishes to local GAA clubs Clann Éireann and St. Mary's Aghagallon ahead of their respective football championship finals this Sunday.

The ABC representative said:

"On behalf of all my Sinn Féin colleagues, I wish both Clann Éireann and St. Mary's all the very best of luck as they step out to take part in the Armagh and Antrim Senior Football Finals on Sunday.

"Both teams have done tremendously well to reach this stage, and there is a great buzz around the area as the big day draws near.

"We could also have the thrilling prospect of an Upper Bann derby in the Ulster Championship, should both teams win their respective finals.

"Whatever the outcome, the people of Lurgan, Aghagallon and surrounding areas are extremely proud of the achievements of both clubs, and hope they can both bring home the silver on Sunday."
