Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed the completion of restoration works to Magheralin War Memorial. A range of improvements have been made and the works were finished in time for Remembrance Sunday.

Carla Lockhart said:

“I want to express my gratitude to Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for responding to my request for some improvement works to be made to the War Memorial in Magheralin.

"With the passage of time the lettering and paving at the memorial had fallen into a bad state of repair. The new improvements include new paving and pointing, lettering, and a wreath holder being put in place.

"It is particularly pleasing that these works were completed before Remembrance Sunday when the memorial becomes a focal point in the community for remembering the fallen.

"We must ensure these memorials are maintained and protected for future generations and I will continue to seek other improvements to other memorials in local towns and villages.”
