ABC Council is set to light up the borough with a virtual light switch-on on Saturday 4th December at 7.30pm.

One of the highlights of the Christmas celebrations will be the virtual light switch-on lighting up our city, towns and villages across the borough. The event will be streamed live on Facebook, YouTube and online with a very special message from Santa live, from the North Pole.

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Alderman Glenn Barr said,

“Following the success of last year’s online event and to enable everyone to join in, we are delighted to announce the date for this year’s virtual switch-on will take place on Saturday 4th December at 7.30pm.

“We are encouraging everyone to join in and together we can Light Up Our Borough. Santa and Mrs Claus will be joining us online to give us an update on their busy schedule and I know all the boys and girls across our borough will not want to miss it.

“It’s time to spread some Christmas cheer and I hope families will join the festivities. We will be encouraging you to send us in your pictures of your own Christmas switch-on events at home.”

Last year over 40,000 viewers tuned in online to watch the live Christmas Light switch-on event from across the UK and beyond.
