Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has welcomed the ongoing construction works at the site of the new Home Bargains store in Lurgan.

Carla was speaking after a visit to the site last week.

She said, “The construction of the new Home Bargains store is continuing at pace and it was good to meet the team behind this development today and see just how vast the development is.

"There will be lots of 'Home Bargains' for the people of Lurgan and surrounding area when this store opens, such is its scale.

"Of course, this is not only good news for shoppers, but it is also a timely boost for the local job market. Dozens of new jobs will be created on site here and it will also bring more footfall to Lurgan, that should benefit the town as a whole.

"Further exciting news is on its way for Lurgan around this site and while the team here dots the I’s and crosses the T’s I can say it will be a very welcome addition and yet another indication that Lurgan is very much open for business and seen as a good place to do business."
