Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s planners are currently considering an application that will see two ball stops installed at Drumgor Youth Club’s 3G pitch.

Lodged by agent Glenn Massey Architect Ltd on behalf of applicant John Cochrane, the application seeks permission to install two football ball stops 6m high by 30m wide at the pitch 10m north of Drumgor Youth Club on the Drumgor Road in Craigavon.

The application form notes the material used in these ball stop nets will be different to those previously approved as part of an another planning application.

The ball stops will consist of a 50 x 200mm green heras fencing supported by 100x100mm steel supports.

The panel will be fixed to the post by suspending the top horizontal wires on to the nominal fixing base on post. The end of the verticals of each panel will be trapped by a flatbar and secured with anti-tamper security bolts

Lodged on Friday, May 6, the application was verified on Friday, May 13. The application’s neighbour consultation period expires on Monday, June 13 while its standard consultation period will expire on Friday, June 17.

The application will be advertised until Friday, June 24.
