A planning application has been lodged with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s planners seeking permission to retain and extend a car dealers premises at Carn.

Lodged by agent 54 North Design Ltd on behalf of applicant Agnew Group Ltd, permission is sought to retain the existing car sales at Agnew Autostore and the hard standing and perimeter paladin type fencing to the northern, southern and eastern boundaries.

The proposal includes the change of use from agricultural land to car sales/storage with ancillary staff parking, to include a proposed partial resurfacing with bitmac and new steel bollards to the site frontage (western) boundary with the relocation of existing close boarded fence to the rear of the display area.

According to the application the land adjacent to and north of 8 Carn Court Road, Portadown is currently used as spillover parking and a storage area for the adjacent car showrooms.

The fence to be erected is a 2,400mm high timber hit and miss fence that is stained black. The boundary screen will have 150x19mm vertical timber panels with a 50mm gap on 100x50mm galvanised steel channels.

Lodged on Thursday, April 21 and validated on Friday, May 13 the application’s neighbour consultation period will expire on Tuesday, June 14 with the standard consultation period set to expire on Monday, June 20.

The application will be advertised until Friday, June 24.
