Conditional discharge for "genuine mistake"

A convicted sex offender has appeared at Craigavon Courthouse.

The case of Lee Hamilton, (24), of Aughnaskeagh Road, Dromore, was heard during the sitting on Tuesday, November 22.

Whilst none of the facts were disclosed to the court, Hamilton pleaded guilty to failing to make an annual report on September 1 this year.

Representing himself, the defendant told the court that he has always been called to make a report and it didn’t happen this year.

District Judge Peter Magill imposed a conditional discharge for a year in what he labelled “a genuine mistake”.
