A Lagan River councillor has called on farmers and their families to help shape Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s agricultural strategy by completing an online survey.
The council-run survey, which will take about 20-25 minutes to complete will provide farmers and their families with the opportunity to have their creative and realistic recommendations to address opportunities and challenges for the industry within the borough heard.
Encouraging the local farming community to get complete the survey, Councillor Kyle Savage said it was important they help the Council understand their needs.
“I would encourage all farmers and their families within Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area to take the time to fill in the survey,” said the Ulster Unionist Party councillor.
“This will help us shape our agriculture policy going forward. We are giving the farming community the chance to have their voice heard.
“Within ABC, the agri-food industry is worth 33.4 per cent of our local economy. As I have always said, we need to ensure a fair share of the profits throughout the food chain to help protect our farming communities.
“Please take the time to complete this survey and help us so we can help you.”
The survey is open from Friday, June 11 to Friday, July 2 and all those who take part will be entered into a raffle to win a £150 voucher to be used with any animal feed supplier of their choice.
