A current prisoner, who drove a vehicle without insurance, has been disqualified from the roads for six months.

The case of Patrick Close, (23), who is currently in HMS Maghaberry, was heard at Craigavon Courthouse on Friday, September 3.

The court heard on January 19, 2019, the defendant drove on the Brankinstown Road, Craigavon, without a valid insurance certificate.

Representing himself, Close told the court that he didn’t get his insurance switched in time.

District Judge Bernie Kelly disqualified the defendant for six months and imposed a £200 fine.
