A Portadown man, who pleaded guilty to charges of criminal damage and disorderly behaviour, has been imposed with a suspended custodial sentence.

The case of Kyle Martin Jones, (37), of Woodview Avenue, was heard at Craigavon Courthouse sitting on Friday, November 19.

The court heard that on May 26 last year, the defendant was observed on CCTV damaging the packaging of a lightning charging cable in Tesco in Lurgan.

After officers arrived, Jones was warned about his behaviour but he continued to shout and be loud.

In his defence, the court was reminded that Jones was currently completing an enhanced combination order until September 2022 but that he pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.

District Judge Bernie Kelly imposed a three month custodial sentence for the offences, suspended for 12 months.
