A Craigavon man, who made threats to damage property, has had his case adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be obtained.

The case of Dean Hanlon, (20), of Inn Road, was heard at Craigavon Courthouse sitting on Friday, January 7.

The court heard that around 3:15pm on November 11 last year, police responded to the call of a domestic incident after a verbal argument between Hanlon and the injured party.

It was stated that the defendant made threats “to burn out” the injured party’s house whilst she was sleeping.

Hanlon made full admissions to police during an interview.

Defence barrister Conor Lunny stated that his client has “an underlying drink and drug issue” and that the fact the offence occurred in a domestic setting “doesn’t help”.

District Judge Bernie Kelly adjourned the case until February 11 for a pre-sentence report to be gathered.
