Work on the restoration of the 19th Century wall around Shankill Parish Rectory has been completed.

Scullion Stonemasonry Ltd began the work in early March.

The wall was built in the mid-19th century, while the Rectory itself was demolished in the 1980s.

It has been rebuilt using traditional techniques. Funding has been provided by the Department for Communities: Historic Environment Division (Love Heritage NI) through the Historic Environment Fund Revival Stream Fund; and the Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council and the National Lottery Heritage Fund through the Lurgan Townscape Heritage Scheme.

Your Lurgan's Donagh McKeown, something of an historic edifice himself, has been to visit and talked with Conor Scullion from Scullion Stonemasonry Ltd, as the wall was being reconstructed.
