Man murdered in Gilford is named
Yesterday we reported on vandalism in the historical important Shankill Graveyard.
The site has been closed to all for over 22 weeks by Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council while a Conservation and Safety survey is carried out.
Community group Friends of Shankill Graveyard want answers as to why such a measure is necessary, and say that allowing access to the community would be more likely to prevent such behaviour in the future.
They also want answers to long-term responsibility to the site with regards to headstone restoration and preservation.
Our reporter Donagh McKeown spoke to Chairperson of the Friends of Shankill Graveyard, Isobel Hylands, at the locked gates of the location.
The council have been asked for a comment.
