A man accused of a number of obscene offences, including masturbating in a public place, has appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court.

Emil Koychev Andreev, 31, of Irwin Drive in Lurgan made his first appearance at the court this morning (Friday).

He faces two charges of indecent exposure and three of committing an act outraging public decency.

None of the facts surrounding the offences, which allegedly took place on February 21 this year, were read out in court

A constable familiar with the facts of the case said he could connect Andreev to the charges.

The case will be back in the court on June 1 for a bail variation, with a full file set to be before the court on June 24.

District Judge Bernie Kelly, in relation to the charges, said it was “absolutely ridiculous that anyone thinks in this day and age that that is appropriate”.
