Lurgan Town U17 opened up their League Cup campaign at home to Brookvale under the lights at Lurgan Town Arena.

Town were quickly out of the blocks and came close with a few long range efforts from Eoghan McMahon, Jack Mullins and Callum Carson. Lurgan’s pressure paid off and got their deserved opening goal. A great through ball from Ryan Lee Brown found Daniel Patterson who calmly slotted it passed the Brookvale keeper.

It was all one way traffic and moments later town doubled their lead. Brown finished well from a great pass from Patterson. Just before half time Lurgan got a third. A great one two from Carson and Patterson put it on a plate for Liam Campbell to finish from three yards out.

In the second half, Town added another one from Ben Hendron to make it 4-0, making it a much better performance by the players this week.

Up next for the U17's is a friendly match against Crewe midweek and then Ballyvea next weekend.
