A Gilford man has pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour at Craigavon Area Hospital.
The case of David O’Hara, (38), of Woodlands, was heard at Craigavon Courthouse sitting on Friday, December 23.
A prosecutor outlined that on January 26 this year, the defendant had come into the Emergency Department at Craigavon Area Hospital and kicked-off with other patients.
Police attended and spoke with staff who restrained the defendant. It was reported that his behaviour was in the vicinity of other patients who were waiting for treatment.
O’Hara was interviewed about the matter and confessed he had too much alcohol.
In his defence, the court was told that O’Hara has had a number of positive updates in his life since the offence took place and he is about to become a father.
It was conceded that disorderly behaviour in a hospital is not tolerated by the court but it was a blessing that no assaults took place.
District Judge Trevor Brown acknowledged this offence could have caused more problems and issued 120 hours of community service.
