Body of missing Lurgan man Odhran O'Neill found in Thailand

The body of a Lurgan man who had gone missing in Thailand has been found.

Twenty-two-year-old Odhran O’Neill, from Forest Glade in the Antrim Road area of North Lurgan, was last seen kayaking in Khaosok yesterday (Saturday) at 1pm Thailand time. 

It was reported that his kayak capsized in Khao Sok National Park, with Odhran saying thay he would swim to shore but wasn’t seen again.

Posts on social media were shared far and wide in an attempt to raise awareness of Odhran’s disappearance.

However, this morning, Lurgan GAA club Clann Eireann provided an update on their social media pages.

“Unfortunately, it is not the outcome we had all hoped and prayed for,” they said.

“Odhrán’s body has been found this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the O’Neill, O’Dowd and McVeigh families at this very difficult time. Go raibh suaimhneas síoraí ar a anam dílis.”
